The University of Ottawa Entrance and Excellence Scholarships are renewable awards based on average that are available to students from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, South Korea, India, and Africa studying in English.
University of Ottawa
Located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, the University of Ottawa, sometimes known as uOttawa or U of O, is a bilingual public research institution. The main campus is situated in the Sandy Hill neighborhood on 42.5 hectares (105 acres), directly northeast of Downtown Ottawa and across the Rideau Canal.

The same programs will provide consideration to students from China or South Korea for Excellence scholarships.
The International English Entrance Scholarship
The University of Ottawa is constantly striving to enhance the diversity of its foreign student body, and it takes pride in this fact. The International English Entrance Scholarship will contribute to the University of Ottawa’s growing standing as one of Africa’s top post-secondary educational institutions. With the new scholarship, African students enrolled in English-speaking universities will be able to enroll in several pilot programs across three faculties at a much lower tuition rate.
The top applicants with an admission average of 90% or above who apply by April 1, 2024, and whose admission has been processed by April 15, 2024, will be given excellence scholarships through a competitive process. Candidates who prioritize the University of Ottawa will receive preference. Recipients are required to start their program in September.
Application Procedure
Every qualified student is considered for this prize and will be informed upon admission. The scholarship does not require an application, but before receiving the first installments, beneficiaries will need to provide documentation proving they are citizens of an African nation.
The International English Excellence Scholarship

Criteria
The candidates who fulfill the following criteria are eligible to apply for the University of Ottawa Entrance and Excellence Scholarships:
- be a citizen of any of the listed nations or any country in Africa
- be freshly admitted in one of the English-language undergraduate programs that meet the requirements in the autumn of 2024 from one of the mentioned faculties
- not sign up for the immersion program in French
- possess a current study permit before classes begin.
- be enrolled full-time.
*Dual citizenship holders who are nationals of both Canada and another nation are not eligible because they are already qualified for Canadian tuition rates.

Application Procedure
If you are eligible, you will be automatically considered for the University of Ottawa Entrance and Excellence Scholarships, if you apply for an eligible program at the University of Ottawa. You don’t need to apply for these scholarships. However, there may be other scholarship opportunities at the University of Ottawa you want to avail.
Once you’ve submitted an application to the University of Ottawa and obtained your uoAccess ID and password, you may start applying for these scholarships and bursaries.
- Applications for all scholarships and bursaries must be completed online using the Online Scholarships and Bursaries application. Typically, two months prior to the application deadline, application forms become available.
- Before applying, carefully read over all the prerequisites.
- After completing the necessary paperwork, upload it to Online Scholarships and Bursaries and submit your application.
